Toddler sleep help that actually sticks
Bedtime battles, 5am wake-ups, the dreaded nap drop - toddler sleep problems are different from baby sleep problems. I work with families across Australia to fix them.
Who this is for
Toddlers are a different challenge entirely
Toddler sleep problems aren't usually about self-settling skills - by this stage, most toddlers can do that. They're about routines that no longer match sleep needs, separation anxiety that's developmentally normal but exhausting, or habits that have gradually crept in and now feel impossible to change.
The good news: toddlers respond quickly to the right approach. Most families I work with see meaningful change within a week - often sooner.
My approach with toddlers is calm, consistent, and age-appropriate. I'm not here to battle your toddler or make bedtime a power struggle. I help you understand what's driving the problem and give you a strategy that your child can get on board with.
All consultations are online, so I work with families Australia-wide - wherever you are, I can help.
Bedtime battles
Refusing to go to bed, calling out repeatedly, or needing a parent to stay until they fall asleep - these are the most common toddler sleep complaints. Almost always fixable with the right routine and boundaries.
The nap transition (2 to 1 nap)
Dropping from two naps to one is a big shift that often temporarily derails overnight sleep. I'll guide you through the timing and help you manage the transition without weeks of chaos.
Early morning waking
5am wake-ups feel cruel. Often there's a fixable cause - light, temperature, overtiredness, or a bedtime that's too late. I help identify the cause and give you a clear plan to push that wake time back.
Night waking in toddlers
A toddler who has been sleeping well and starts waking overnight usually has a clear reason - regression, illness, a routine shift, or a sleep association. I help identify and fix it.

Common questions
My toddler was sleeping well and suddenly isn't. What happened?
This is very common. The transition from two naps to one, developmental leaps, increased separation anxiety, a new sibling, or simply a shift in sleep needs can all disrupt previously good sleep. Often the fix is simpler than parents expect - a routine or timing adjustment is enough.
My toddler refuses to stay in their room at bedtime. How do you handle that?
Bedtime resistance in toddlers is almost always about connection, overtiredness, or a routine that no longer matches their sleep needs. I help identify what's driving it and build a consistent, calm bedtime approach that doesn't involve battles or distress.
Do you recommend moving from a cot to a bed?
Most toddlers are ready for a bed at around 2.5–3 years, but the timing depends on the child. Moving too early often creates more sleep problems than it solves. I'll give you a clear recommendation based on where your child is.
Will the methods you use work for my strong-willed toddler?
Strong-willed toddlers often resist sleep because they feel they're missing something - not because they can't sleep. The right approach is consistent, calm, and doesn't involve power struggles. I adjust my approach to match your toddler's temperament specifically.
