Is a sleep consultant worth it?
This is the most common question families have before reaching out - and it's a fair one. Sleep consultants aren't regulated in Australia, which means anyone can call themselves one. That's exactly why credentials, methodology, and real client outcomes matter.
Here's what working with a certified consultant typically means for families: meaningful overnight improvement within the first week, nap improvements within two to three weeks, and - more importantly - a plan that makes sense and that parents can maintain without ongoing support.

“I could not recommend Jose more highly. She is such a warm, nurturing and easy going person to work with. She listened to our situation and our hopes and came up with a number of solutions for us, with variations to the approach depending on what was most comfortable to us. We had our little 15month old co-sleeping with me, waking countless times and breastfeeding nearly constantly throughout the night. For the first few hours of the night he would also only sleep ON me, which meant that I had no time for myself at all. With Jose's help our little man is now sleeping in the cot, in his own room and I have my evenings back! He is only waking once a night for a feed (something we are very comfortable to still do) with clear steps from Jose on how to cut out that feed in the near future, when we feel ready. Josephine holds a Certificate in Infant & Child Sleep Consulting from the DNT Network (issued October 2025), a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood, a current Working With Children Check, and a current Police Check. She has worked with children professionally for over 10 years.
